What a crazy world

God . . . has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. —Ephesians 1:3

This was the devotional reading from The Daily Bread today. In addition to this I also read Habakkuk 3:17-19. All I can say after that is Wow!

We have so much to be thankful for and yet we always look for more. We have so much to offer others yet we constantly look to take more. God has provided us with so much, much more than we need. Yet are we truly ever satisfied. Is it possible for us to simply say thans God. Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do in my life. Thank you for the people in my life. Thank you for the sun each morning and the stars each night.

It is a shame that it often takes a horrible event for us to re-focus our attention on what is truly important. What is truly important is not things or money or status. Instead what is truly important is love, life, and freedom. These things are the attributes of God. These are the things that our God has for us.

I remember last week as the numbers from the tsunami continued to rise. Who could really wrap their hands around it. the numbers were so large that it was hard to accept it was hard to understand. But God understood. He knew each name and each family effected by this disaster. the God we worship is a God that does not leave us even when things are going bad. God is there for us and continues to guide us and help us.

It is so overwhelming....I just want to stop and say THANKS!
