The News today

Tonight in New Orleans something magical happens. For some of us, as we watched the devastation from hurricane Katrina last year, the thought of hope in New Orleans seemed so foreign.

Yet tonight, that is exactly what we are going to see tonight. Hope does indeed reside in the city of New Orleans. The New Orleans Saints are hosting a Monday Night Football game in a place that appeared to have been devastated beyond repair.

We have all seen the pictures and we have all read the stories, yet the people of New Orleans promised the nation and the world that they would be back. I don't know if I ever truly believed them. But today in the avenue of sport we again see that hope and the human spirit are forever entwined.

What a great day for New Orleans and what a great day for the world.

Let's play some football.
