Here we go!

Tomorrow morning ten of us will be headed out to Dulac, Louisiana. We are going on a one week Mission trip. It is an exciting time for us as we get close and closer to actually getting onto the plane and heading out. We do not know what to expect and that unknown is actually part of the excitement.

It never seems like there is enough time to get ready for a trip like this, there is always more things that need to be done and more people you need to contact. Yet, in a few short hours all those thoughts will have to be left behind.

I am very excited to see what the next week will bring, how will the ten of us respond to our surroundings. Will we be a blessing to the people of Dulac, just as I am sure they will be a blessing to us?

This is gonna be exciting!

Mission trips have always been a highlight of my ministry, even if I barely know the operating end of a hammer. Over the past 25 years, I have helped roof a Habitat for Humanity house, scraped and painted homes in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, delivered supplies to the Methodist Home in Louisiana, visited refugee camps, directed Vacation Bible School in a Spanish-speaking church, served food to the homeless and conducted street evangelism in Mexico. These experiences are tough on the body but good for the soul!

Blessings on your mission trip in LA...and any future outings you take in the name of our Lord.
